Some families choose to get portraits taken of their baby on their 100th day on Earth for cultural reasons, some love to get portraits taken at 3, 4 or 5 months to mark that milestone.

Babies are showing some more personality with hints of smiles and maybe even some giggles. It’s a great age to capture and we often get wide-eye portraits and funny expressions.

While we won’t get the full variety of posing that can happen between 6-7 months old, this age range is an adorable one to capture especially if you want to document your baby at each stage of development over the first year.

Your session will come with 3 sets designed with your chosen colour palette in mind and you will have access to 3 coordinating outfits from our client wardrobe closet or you may choose outfits from home.

One of our absolute favourite times to photograph a baby in their first year is when they are sitting unassisted which happens around the 6.5+ month mark. Wee are able to capture your baby in a greater variety of posing from sitting up, sometimes being able to be on all fours in crawling position, lying on their backs and grabbing their toes and even pulling themselves up if they are closer to 9 months.

It really is a magical time in this incredible first year of life! Babies are also showing their personalities and we often are able to get both smiling and serious face portraits which show off their big awe-filled eyes!

We use a variety of props from little beds they can sit on, buckets and bowls they can sit in, vintage high chairs, etc to create varying looks to round out their collection of images. All props used are based on your baby’s individual capabilities as every baby develops at different rates (so props are easily switched out if to what works best for your baby).

The time has come to celebrate your baby’s first birthday! YEAH!! It’s been an exciting year of firsts and you’re ready to commemorate this incredible time with a fun first birthday photography session.

We base our first birthday portraits around the idea of having 3 set designs. The first two sets we create based on your colour palette choices and baby is in clothes that reflect your personal style. This could be as simple as jeans and shirt, a ruffled romper or knit shorts from our wardrobe collection. We use various props like vintage cribs, baby beds, crates and buckets to create fun sets.

The last set is the cake smash set design. We use fun banners and balloons to create a simple but fun set that lets your child be the star when tasting cake for the first time.

We supply everything you need for this set except the outfit your child is smashing the cake in (we do have tutu and diaper cover options but will help you plan out what outfit to wear for this messy part) and the cake (our insurance says that’s a no-no) but we do work closely with you in giving you a list of preferred vendors for the cake design that we work closely with.

Not sure what your cake should look like? No problem! We have some fun designs that you can choose from that photograph beautifully and you can pass those on to your chosen baker.

Not sure you want a cake smash for your little one? No problem! We will create a third set with the idea that we will get additional portraits in regular clothes.
